KiWear Ring - 3D-printable try-on sizer
=======================================

Ten ring models, one per size, US 6-15. Each ring has its size number
on it, so you can tell them apart once printed.

FILE FORMAT
-----------
STEP (.stp). Import it directly in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or
PrusaSlicer. Cura does not read STEP - convert to STL first, or use
one of the slicers above.

PRINT SETTINGS
--------------
* 100% scale. Turn off auto-fit, scale-to-fit and any shrink
compensation. The dimensions ARE the measurement - if you scale the
model, you get the wrong size.
* 0.15-0.2 mm layer height.
* Flat on the bed. No supports needed.
* PLA, PETG or resin all work.

PRINT ONLY WHAT YOU NEED
------------------------
Measure your dominant index finger first (kiwear.com sizing page), then
print that size and the one below it - two models is enough.

CHECK THE PRINT BEFORE YOU TRUST IT
-----------------------------------
Measure the printed bore with calipers against the table above. FDM
printers commonly come out 0.1-0.3 mm under; a light sand inside fixes
it. A model that prints small will read as a smaller size than it is.

JUDGE IT BY THE SHAKE TEST, NOT BY FEEL
---------------------------------------
The real KiWear Ring is filled with potting resin inside the band, so
it grips your skin far more than a printed model does. PLA in
particular is slick - a printed ring will always feel looser than the
real thing. Do not judge these models by how they feel. Judge them by
whether they stay on.

  1. Print two adjacent sizes: the one the size finder gave you,
     and the size below it.
  2. Put one on the index finger of your dominant hand.
  3. Shake your hand hard - about 30 shakes, roughly five seconds.
  4. Still on? That size works.
  5. Both stayed on? Either size works - take your pick: the larger
one for a little room, or the smaller one for an exact fit.

WHICH FINGER
------------
The index finger of your dominant hand - the one you write and swipe
with. The sensors inside the band are laid out for that position. Your
two index fingers can differ by a full size, so measure the hand you
will actually wear it on.

STILL NOT SURE?
---------------
A printed model is a reference, not a guarantee. If neither size holds,
or you land between two, write to contact@kiwear.com with your
measurement and we will recommend your size.
